Website
maintenance is an important part of establishing a sense
of professionalism and trust in your website and thereby
in your company or community group. A website that
has a regular maintenance schedule and is kept up to date
and current will show customers that you care about the
appearance of your site and thereby your good company
name.
We
consider it worse to have a poorly maintained website,
than not having a website at all, especially if products
and prices are involved. If you visit a website and
find "last updated 1999" or "prices as at May, 2001" you
will not put much weight on the information found on that
website. You may even think that they are out of
business altogether! In today's fast paced world,
you need to make sure that your site does not become
obsolete or stale. You need something on your site
to make your visitors feel like you are not just another
site, and that you value the fact that they are taking
time to visit your site and find out more about you and
your business.
Adding
something "sticky" to your site is an effective way to
keep visitors coming back. Adding an online card
creator, game or some other "value added" item will keep
visitors coming back to your site, and keep your site
fresh in their minds. The next time they need
something that your site offers, they will think of you
first.

Frequent
website maintenance and updates will give visitors a
reason to check back often for the latest that you have to
offer. If visitors come to your site and see that
things are up to date they will feel more comfortable in
dealing with you through your site.
Another
way to keep people coming back is to have online
promotions, writing a "tip of the week", or by publishing
articles of interest periodically.
WebStar
Designs and Digital Photography can do your website
maintenance and periodic updates at a very reasonable
cost. We do not charge a minimum fee for any of our
work. If something takes 10 minutes to do, we charge
you for 10 minutes only, not an hour. Quite often
our clients have small changes that need to be done
regularly (such as the seasonal changes in the schedule of
Body Heart and Soul Yoga classes). Often there are
only minor changes to be made that don't take very long.
You wouldn't want to be charged a costly minimum fee each
time you need a small change done to your website.
Very often small changes are what keep your site looking
fresh and up to date.
We
have had a few clients that after we have designed their
website, like to be able to make changes to their website
themselves. If you think this is what you would like
to do, we will gladly show you how with a tutorial on how
to do the basic changes that need to be done on a regular
basis.
